Engine numbers

I have a spare engine and what to find out what model it came from?
I have a 1991 MC21 SE version and the spare engine i have managed to find is serial number MC16E 1047444 with a wet clutch. How can i find out what model it is from as all the engines for the NSR started with MC16E ?
