Hi all, having bought an nsr mc16 a year or two ago that was sold to me as fully ready to ride i soon found out it was not, it then got thrown to the back of the garage and I bought another 250 stroker fully restored.
I've now started to turn my attention to the nsr, thoughts were to do a top end rebuild and tidy it up, carbs fully rebuilt and vapor blasted next job barrels off, socket set in hand exhausts off only to have the exhausts come away from the barrels by just removing the springs, the collars bolted to the barrels appear to be serving no purpose in holding the exhaust to the manifold is this correct or should the exhausts have a flange on them to allow the collars to do their job. the parts manual is not that clear to show the detail, however having searched ebay for second hand ones to view the pictures some are showing approx 10mm flange fitted 3-4mm from the manifold end .
Any clarification would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Brian
