MC18 Cylinders - Race tuned & recent replate by Poeton

Mr T » Wed Mar 29, 2017 10:45 pm

Less than 150 miles since replating by Poeton Aptec. (0.05mm piston to bore clearance) They’ve only done a couple of track days since plating so bores still have cross hatched honing marks as they’re not fully run in. As with any freshly replated cylinder there are some vertical marks caused by ring flutter. This is normal for cylinders that have been replated and if used in a race/track day environment I’d recommend that after the first couple of runs the top end be stripped and any high spots on pistons rubbed done with 1200 grit wet & dry to remove any high spots. I’ve switched to a TT-F3 motor so these are surplus to requirements but these made good power on our track day bike last year. Cylinder heads also available if required. Please PM with any questions and I'll email over some pics.
