Personally I wouldn't say that's anywhere near enough clearance.

Quite why you want to run such a wide tyre on an NSR250 too, is quite beyond me really. It's certainly not going to help handling. But each to their own.

Just be sure to check the tyre after some light use. Any "squat" under acceleration or heavier suspension travel will soon have that chain gouging out the sidewall. Seen it plenty of times.
