Next up was the swinging arm. This was corroded worse than the frame plus it had the inevitable crash damage with the paddock stand bobbins ground away and a nasty dent caused by the rear set being pushed in to it.

This called for a little more ingenuity and after a bit of thinking I hatched a cunning plan I drilled a hole in the dent and drilled and tapped a piece of mild steel the same width as the extrusion section.

I then annealed the dented area and used part of my blind bearing puller kit to pull the dent out. Simples

It then went for welding and vapour blasting.

Cleaned the welds up and a good going over with scotchbrite and the result was better than I had hoped for.
