It's definitely NOT recommended to mix the heads and barrels though. The NSR is extremely sensitive to increases in compression, and it's very easy to induce detonation with even minor increases. Hence why a 0.6mm HRC base gasket is recommended when fitting the top head to the lower barrel on the MC21/MC28.
