MC28 side stand switch and steering dampers

Tadpole » Tue Jun 08, 2021 10:39 pm

Had a bloody good blast on the MC28 tonight. Learnt two lessons.

1 The Bridgestone S22s in H rated are as good on the road as they were at the track and 2 now I can push much harder than the old Pirelli Rosso 2's I replaced. Pretty much right to the edge back and front. Very reassuring. So I'd recommend these.

However I had a few slappy moments on the bumpier roads. Oh and my side stand switch may have broken as it's come adrift and I think the inners have fallen out.

We had trouble kick starting it when I stopped for fuel. And as soon as we rode off the side stand light illuminated. Thankfully having had Andy and Steve do the wire splice years ago and running the HRC card the ignition stayed on and didn't affect the ride home. It was still on the Bike but hanging off and looks like bits are missing

So does anyone here know about the side stand switch or have a spare one to compare to see what if any parts from mine are missing. Or be willing to part with.

Then steering dampers. I had one on my old NSR MC21 back in the day. Buy wonder what people use nowadays. I know if it's set up you shouldn't need one. But some of my fave roads are in such a state now that it's getting a bit twitchy now it's set up firmer

Cheers
Graham
