The 88 and 89 rev counters are the parts to go for, as they are self-contained units. 88-93 all take a signal from the PGM-II/III, but for ease of use, I'd stick with an MC18 item.

The solenoids are "dumb" switches, and controlled by the PGM, so either open or closed.
