As Eric says, it doesn't matter. I'll get round to updating/re-writing that one day... amongst all the other jobs!

The marks were there when I first tore my motor apart, about 25 years ago, so wrote it up that way. Having seen countless motors since, I came to realise it was unimportant, but never changed the text.
