So progress is going quite slow.
Curently dedication is focused on my bachelor thesis. This will be finished by the end of april, after that the honda will receive much more love.
Made some progress nevertheless, managed to source a lot of parts.
Shift lever and Brake caliper holders were designed and machined from billet aluminium (left caliper holder is currently being manufactured)
New tires were fitted with MC 18 front rotors.
Would love to Fit MC18 Front calipers some time (i just love the "Overkillness" of the 4 Piston design) . I would need to fit MC18 forks as well.
I would still like to keep the MC16 Three Spoke wheel.. If anyone has done a simmilar swap before, feel free to let me know, what to watch out for.
I really love the patina of the plastics and the fuel tank. (My style of restauration isnīt showroom optics, i like to know, the bike is almost 40 years old)
Aluminum parts, such as swingarm, frame, Fork bottoms and so on will be refinished nevertheless, as soon as i have the time.
For now, completing the bike and getting it registered is the focus.
I still cant get the MC16 Tacho to communicate with the PGM II Unit. Just doesnīt reed an RPM output.
As mentioned before, if there are any electronics experts here, i would be really greatful for any Intel.
Also stuggling to find a mounting point for PGM II unit as this is way bigger, than the stock mc16 ECUs
MC18 RC Servo doesnīt fit in the stock MC 16 wiring tray..
Iīm struggling fo find pictures of the stock mounting brackets for coils and solenoids
Parts Iīm still missing (cant find on the Internet)
MC16 Clutch Cable
MC16 Speedo Cable
MC16 Toolbox Cover
MC16 center Cowling (Will have to manufacture it from Sheet Aluminium otherwise; anticipating painfull work)
MC18 Tacho (should be cheap. Just for testing purposes. poor condition welcomed
