Thanks for the comments, even without the unexpected surprise it would have been a great day out looking at all the weird and wonderful machinery on display like CX500 with MX tyres and wide bars to the dam right exotic mega bucks machines and tons of garage queens/show ponies



Regarding the two unassuming guys who presented the prizes – who I had no idea who they were, well after a 30 second goggle search they are every bit accomplished as I’d been lead to believe – legends in fact


Alex George 3 wins at IOM TT a win at the Bol d’Or and regular GP rider



Chas Mortimer - highlighted area below says it all



Looking at the 1975 500cc GP results – coming 7th and 11th respectively is quite an achievement when the field includes Agostini, Reed, Sheene and Mick Grant – made me smile that it was only the Brits and Irish were up for racing the IOM round (proper hardcore)
