Nothing exciting unfortunately. Got it back on the lift. Replaced the brackets with the MC18 ones.

I compared the T2 Racing pulley with the original. T2 said "By changing the stock characteristics and widening the movement of the RC valve, we have increased the torque from low to high!!". But I think you can tell they are basically exactly the same.

As you can see my original is for some reason all bent out of shape. I tried to encourage the alloy to line up properly but you guessed it- it snapped- so using the T2 one.

Put it all back together and still having the same issue: the pulley does not move until the engine gets to 10,000 rpm and then it goes to the right to this 'High' position and doesn't move from there.

So this makes me think it's one or more of these three other things
- Throttle Position Sensor: have never seen one for sale anywhere.
- The PGM: found one on Jauce. Bought it. Awaiting shipping. It's a real gamble that it won't have the same issue.
- The RC Valve Controller Box: found one on Jauce. Bought it. Awaiting shipping. and again it's a gamble that it won't have the same issue.

If the two 'new' black boxes don't work- the choices at this stage will be
- Send one of the PGM's to T2 Racing and wait 2 years. I think I've said this before and perhaps there was something lost in translation and he meant 2 months. "I am not saying that I don't accept PGM2 refresh, but I don't do it at my shop, it is done by a specialized company. However, the specialized company is busy, so I don't know the delivery time. You have to wait about 1 to 2 years after receiving it. So I don't recommend it and I only accept it if you agree with the delivery time."

- I could investigate and see if T2 Racings Variable Total Spark System https://t2-r.ocnk.net/product/1145 could work with my MC18. As advertised it seems to only be compatible to the MC21. Looks like a huge headache.

PS I know the Service Manual describes how to test the PGM but I can't get my head around it- not to mention you need an OEM Inspection Adapter (and a brain that understands the instructions).

and just FYI here is what Yukako Hanakawa of T2 said about the RC Servo

Hello,Mr.Hudson .
Sorry to keep you waiting.
We apologize for taking so long to reply.
We do not check whether the servo motor is broken when it arrives, but a specialized engineer has checked your servo motor.
The servo motor you sent us had a high motor resistance of 133.9 Ω when it arrived.
Normally, a normal resistance is about 10 to 20 Ω.
When it reaches about 40 Ω, the PGM and other parts will be overloaded and may cause problems.
Your motor has currently been replaced with a new motor and is within the normal range.
However, since the resistance of the servo motor was high when you sent it to us,
it is possible that the PGM was used under strain, so you may want to consider inspecting the PGM as well.
Your servo motor was checked for operation before shipping and is working properly.
Therefore, when it arrives at your hands, we will install the servo motor and if there are any problems, it would be better to suspect parts other than the servo motor.

Best regards,
Yukako Hanakawa
