I have always put red locktite on the transmission oil pump bolts.

As for the cases, I have only used the black suzuki 1207B on my NSR both times i split the cases, never had an issue. The black 1207B has a faster setup time and higher temp range than 1215R which is the gray stuff. My friend has split cases on his Honda CBR 600 and 1000 several times. He uses Hondabond HT. I'd probably use that if I had to go buy a fresh tube.
