Yes, it's hard to tell whether a groove has been made or not....but even on the original (white one) the groove is barely discernable, the T2 (blue) one there's a bit of a mark or something but it's only run 140miles ..however I think the leak is more likely a failure of the mechanical seal or perhaps improper install....I remember installing without taking pictures so I removed it again and took pics....an ill advised procedure which clearly didn't do anyone any good.


Reason for the replace was more for the cracks than the groove...




Thought I'd clean the screen while I had it apart....oh


It looks mainly like red rubber grease to me...methinks I was maybe too liberal with it on the seals...


I never know when I'll get back to some projects so this old fasteners-in-the-cardboard trick is a safety...
