I didn't have one on. Not on an ns250 though. But anyway, I just hit a small bump on the hi-way and it just "tank slapped". A "tank slapper" or "Head shake" is when the steering just violently shakes from left to right, Usually caused by the miss-landing of the rear wheel or the front. there are certain ways to correct it. A steering damper is a definite vote in my account Cool

nsrmonkey, rc46 is right, the damper gets in the way. It takes more than a 2 lane street to make a U-turn. But it feels great to have one on.
