Well, to throw a spanner in the works here...

I ordered a top end kit for Dave Ett from TYGA Performance in Thailand on Tuesday evening, and by Friday morning that kit was on the doorstep here in the UK. Had Dave decided to go ahead with the rebuild (he's gone with the "let's tune the nuts off it" option now instead!) that top-end would've been reassembled in around an hour!

Sure, we've done a lot of top ends, but your first top-end rebuild shouldn't take any more than about 2 hours per cylinder.

I say go to the mechanics', recover the bike, and run! Do the top-end yourself and both save $200 on labour, and get to understand your NSR at the same time! A top-end rebuild is so simple you'll be kicking yourself after for not doing it weeks ago!

Spend the money you save on some good tools!! Smile
