not come across that one before. did the engine run ok before you pulled it down?
as for the clutch, it is possable for the plates to stick together if the bikes been left standing for some time. with the cover off could you see the plates release when you pulled the lever in?
if you need a new clutch check out the market place, i think MC16 clutch plates are in there.
