The 2000 model I had was very reliable and durable on pump gas. I WAS running a det counter, though, so I could jet it on the edge and know exactly where the edge was.
Not a single 1000 v-twin or 600 could out-pull me at the track, on PUMP GAS. The only bikes that pulled away on the straights were the big inline 4's. I never had it dynoed, but I know she was running real strong! Running good castor oil, the piston wear was way less than what I expected, and the stock "rebuild" intervals were way overkill.
