Hey Steven
When grandma was a boy a hundread years ago, a young man called Jamie Whitam started by racing a RGV250 for Suzuki, now it wasnt reliable but theres used to make some real serious horsepower, granted it was on avgas and run lots of special parts and had a habbit of spitting its guts out but 80hp+ was not unheard of, actualy Chris walkers was pretty quick as well. Matt at tygas old TZR made 79 not with TZ parts but just the kit parts. Iam sure he will jump in when back from his jollys.
This could start an agrument about what it takes to get power, but these are road designed bikes with a fine line between power and reliabilaty, you will never have the both together
