Clarkie, I am just going to sit back on this one.
I am not looking for 80hp personally, this is for a race bike and is an effort to be beating those 400's ahem 480's again. How reliable does a race bike need to be? Surley winning is everything and should it blow up on the slow down lap who cares, if it's afordable?
There is no reason it can't be reliable anyway as long as servicing is increased. Ok it may not be ideal for touring europe on.......it's only got to be the fastest bike for 12 laps at a time.
As for Mr Gallant, there are those who say it can't be done and those who are doing it.
It is a 250 still and it's not far off as we speak.
The RGV's bad reputaion stems from it's powervalve lunching motors. People also said to me last year you won't get a new power-valve or head to make more power...............cue 11 rear wheel HP from heads and valves with super reliabilty
You guys have been resting on your laurels
