It's true, pole postition in the Supersport qualifying at Doningotn today (this is a 600cc 4 stroke road bike on road tyres) would qualify in 19th place for the 2001 500gp.

Even the R6 cup guys (these are standard R6's with a can on) are running sub 1.40

Looking at the superbikes and Lavilla and Haslam both ran faster today than any 500 ever did and don't even think of saying anything about tyres as neither of them beat Steve Hislop's 2002 qualifying record time.
