Hi,

No you can't really not put oil in as you'll be just sucking in air instead.

To do a proper job, you will need to remove the reservoir, filling loop, pump and all hoses. You'll then need to get the oil pump blanking kit from either HRC or the one from TYGA. Personally I think the TYGA item is a better solution. You then need to fill the oil feed hoses on the carbs with solder or something to stop them drawing in air.

Hey presto! Lots of messy mixing and a cavernous new area where you can actually get to the top of the engine where all the oil bits used to be!
