I took the oil tank and all the other stuff off. But I left the pump on just undid all the lines from the pump. I blocked the oil inlets into the carbs with a couple of rubber/ plastic caps. I got the caps off of new motorcycle batteries. The batteries are shipped with a little red cap where the overflow tube goes. Anyway, I've had it like that for years without any problems. I still have the caps on the carbs now. I did take the oil pump off and installed the oil pump block off seal.
