Trying to wake a sleeping NSR, advice please.

S15DET » Wed Oct 05, 2005 5:33 pm

This bike has been sitting idle for more than a year, maybe even two, but supposedly ran great when parked. So far I have installed two new spark plugs, put a little oil into the combustion chambers, used spray lube to free the throttle cable, throttle mechanism and choke, tested and cycled the electronic power valve, repaired the fuel petcock, drained the tank and put in fresh high-octane and just generally cleaned and looked it over. The battery won’t take a charge, so I’ve been powering it from a car battery. After some kicking, it ran for a few seconds, but never for long enough to say I was successful. I’m open to any tips on what I should do to get this motor to fire, both of my legs are sore this morning. I’m trying it with the choke all the way on, is this correct? Air box is off, if it matters. Thanks.
