Interesting you mention that as us 2 stoke boys are lucky they (motorsport governing bodies) don't count the crankcase (and chambers??) as part of a 2 strokes capacity - as they argueably should -, otherwise the 4 strokes would have always dominated any race class catagory with a capacity limit.
