found a new cdi at the local honda dealer, £110 next day delivery!!. went to fit it today but now the kickstart is knacked. it moves to take up the freeplay in the spring and then it is solid, locking the gearbow so that i can't even bump start it to find out which cdi is fried. the engine and box are both free to spin when the kickstart shaft is removed. has anyone had this prob? it seems the smallcog on the shaft is jamming against the casing on the inside and not letting the big cog spin freely.
