I never understood putting a 1/4 throttle on the NSR. The stock one is nearly 1/4 turn in the first place!
When you think about it, the difference between us rookies and a guy like Rossi is all about throttle control. Reducing to a shorter turn throttle amplifies the touchiness of the input, making it more difficult to control. It's almost like running slicker tires so you have to learn how to get by with less traction...
And when it comes to "race enhancements", there is one thing that is WELL worth the money on a 2T: a detonation counter. Every other bolt-on is a waste compared to these. I had one on my RS, and will some day put one on the NSR (when I save the cash).
