ACTUALLY, there is no advantage of decreased gyroscopic effect when switching to the HRC wider rims. I had a set of Marchesini's for my 2000 RS that I compared to the alloy MC28 wheels just for kicks. The RS wheels with fairly worn race slicks mounted up weighed the exact same weight as my alloy NSR wheels with brand-new Dragon HR's on them. The wider (=heavier) tire size is the reason.
So really, the only advantage is the bling factor and the ability to run wider rubber/race slicks.
Now if you went from stock alloy to NSR mag wheels, there would be a tad gyroscopic advantage.
