The MC16 to my knowledge didn't run a PGM/CDI as the later ones did.
The early model MC18 ran a PGMI, the later MC18 ran a PGMII with Throttle position sensor (TPS), the MC21 ran the PGMIII with TPS and gearbox position sensor.
