I went to take up an offer of a few test rides this afternoon only to find my best kit (and fave) is all mould infested.

WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN KEEPING YOUR STUFF FOR IT TO GET IN THAT STATE Question YOU DIRTY BOY

My RX7 Corsairs' innards come out for cleaning except the very bottom lip of padded material. It looks to be glued in - anyone got any input on its removal for cleaning or renewal ?

As it happens i have just had my Astro J in bits for cleaning as all the winter riding has taken its toll ,The best thing for cleaning the fabrics is Johnsons Baby Shampoo (No tears formula is the best) also the fabric at the rear of the helmet is not removeable so has to be washed in situe.
The lip on the bottom just peels out (there is a barbed tab that has to be pulled out this is about 20mm deep) SEE PICCIE

PLEASE NOTE KOGEPAN BAG IS NOT MINE Smile

The advice on cleaning came from a friend of mine who was an ex ARAI service technician ,I have allways cleaned my ARAI lids in this way for the last 8 years or so now with no problems.
The only thing i must warn you is HAND WASH using luke warm water and then leave to air dry.
If there are really that bad and you do not want to reuse them you can allways replace them ,Spares are available from any authorised ARAI service centre.

The next downer is that my all time fave lid that I've had for the last 18 years (Arai F1 in Randy Mamola colours) needs new innards.
Anyone suggest where you can get the innards for classic Arai ?

I would be very suprised if you got any parts for this as ARAI recomend that you replace there helmets after 5-6 years any way 'So i cant see them supplying parts for an 18 year old lid.

Yeah I know it's old and probably dangerous but for the kind of crash that will happen when I'm using it, it will be ok.[/quote]

If you are having problems stripping/finding parts P.M me as i have an instruction manual and parts list as all the Asro/j ,astral ,Quantum/f RX-7RR4 and NR-5 are basically the same.
