NS400 squish band width....

Binka » Sun Jan 08, 2006 11:48 am

If anyone has some useful input - it would be appreciated please.
I'm working out the head specs 'to be' for the NS400, for decent top end performance, it looks like a 6mm squishband is the optimum, sacrificing the bottom end performance that is.
I don't have a great deal in experience with Honda chambers but they look (in general) to be very conservative in factory trim.

Has anyone got some data or experience handy re. squish volumes and chamber shapes ? I need as much info on squish band area and CR's in order to get the best performance at the upper end of the rev range.

I hate doing this but the stock head design is, well, crap - from a power point f view.

I can't believe they didn't blow up all the time purely from the inability to transfer heat away in the squishies.
Thinking back to the numerous summer blow ups people had with 300cc motors, maybe this was the problem. ?
Anyone got the 150 head dimensions and I'll work it out ?

Idea
