Just a thought...

The NSR is fitted as standard with relatively low output headlights, 60/55W if I remember correctly.

Make sure high output headlights (100/90W) haven't been fitted as this may strain the charging system.

As Dave says, it's not uncommon for new regulators to be faulty either!!
