I think it's safe to say, that unless you are built like Pedrosa, all the NSR's would benefit from a re-spring for the average Brit lager gut.
Re-damping [be it valving or air gap adjustments] should also give good results, as already posted.
Personally, I don't hold that the OE adjustment range on the SP/SE suspension is of much benefit to a fat Brit - given that it's set up for 9 stone piss wet through.
