It's not in the UK, it isn't part of the MOT but it is part of construction and use (according to my local Honda dealer).
My Transalp smashed it's chainguard, numberplate and toolkit (it's just behind the nmberplate area) when it's chain went!
Maybe need to check up on that. I seem to recall someone (StephenRC45 I think) saying that you don't need a chainguard if you don't have a pillion seat/footrests.
I may be wrong though - I could've been on Blue Cruisers at the time, and they do weired things to my sense of reality!!
