crank bearings

Guest » Tue Oct 05, 2004 12:44 pm

hello
up to now i have kept this to myself but i think it is time i came out............
i am not running koyo bearings in my crank Surprised Shocked Surprised about 6 months after i bought it the crank seized on me at about 65mph just as i sat up out of a knee draggin bend..oh yes scary (stephen Wink ).
anyway i have a friend in notts who owns a bike shop Granby motors in beeston, he had the bike for about 2 months and finally managed to source some bearings that were the right size, with the cut out thingy you need and everything, i know he wouldnt have bodged it cos that is why it went in the first palce and he is a close friend. when he took it apart to look at the crank someone had bodged a bearing that was the wrong size into the crank, worry that it was the wrong size not this bodger simply get the angle grinder on it Mad .
well all this happened about 3 years ago and i have done trackdays at donnington and cadwell on the minibeast and many a sunday showing up 600s around the local lanes.
if anyone wants anymore info just reply and i will have a word and see if he can remember where the bearings came from. Very Happy Very Happy
