21 clutch confusion! (SP)

horde » Sun Aug 13, 2006 6:35 am

My clutch has been slipping for a bit now, and as a makeshift idea, i grabbed some spare clutch parts from my big box of spares. *EDIT* These clutch parts were taken from spare donor engine that was running this setup (i never run) **

Anyhow, the assembly i've just fitted has all 2mm steel plates and an extra clutch plate (6). The total thickness of this arrangement is the same as what i have removed.

Is this an aftermarket race clutch setup? I took it for a quick blat to the end of the street and back, and the clutch feels better than the one that was in it. *EDIT* Is noisier than before at idle due to no dampner rubbers able to be fitted**

(what I had in it i believe to be original, 5 clutch plates, 6 steel :1 at 2mm the rest at 2.7ish)

Any idea's as to what I've fitted? I havent fit wet type to a dry have I??

Anyone able to shed light? A bit hesitant to take it out too far......
Cheers!

**EDIT**...........Somehow I think matty's going to take some more money off me for some clutch parts... Hey Matt do you sell inner clutch assemblies, mine has decent wear on the teeth........... Anyone do billet clutch parts?
