This is a 93 NSR250 SP model (the better suspension and magnesium rims).
Dry weight of 290 lbs. I purchased this bike 2 ½ years ago. The bike was imported from japan. The bike does not appear to be raced as there are no wire ties, and it came with the headlight/taillight passenger foot pegs etc..
I think the mileage is around 14KM or 8700 miles.
the bike has rearset pegs, a steering damper, and a brace on the front forks, it also has carbon reeds. other then that, it is all stock
There are cracks in the plastic from shipping etc.. I was going to strip it down completely and fix all damage with fiberglass and do a custom paint job. I actually made the plastic worse as I took the plastic off and started to peel off stickers and paint on a spot. The clear coat over the stickers made this a bit difficult and I decided id get some sort of chemical to strip the paint. And then do the bodywork.. haven’t gotten around to it yet.
wifey wont let me do it in the house, and i dont have a garag yet.
So I just put the bodywork back on and have been driving it that way.
The bike ran when I got it, but did not have keys, and definitely needed to have some bugs worked out. The derestriction wire splice to get from the Japan limited 45 HP to an instant 52 HP has been done. I have gotten keys made for the bike, and worked out a few of the gremlins. I really haven’t had time to work on it yet this year, and only went for 2 different rides so far. I went to go for a 3rd ride, and the carb was leaking fuel. i parked it for a month as i have been super busy, but when i did get to it, it was only the float needle sticking. Seems to be fine now. my Reg and Ins expired during that time, and i havent bothered to renew it.
The bike still has the stock airbox setup and the oil injection system. I fixed a leak in that area of the bike “the 2T seal” leak as its commonly known.. the bushing that seals between the 2 stroke oil and the crank oil can slide out of its home (I just added some hondabond to keep it in place) haven’t had a problem since.
The remaining bugs that I know about are the speedo and tach don’t light up fully, not sure if it’s a fuse or just bulbs, and the low beam on the headlight is waaaaaaaaay low, so a new bulb is definitely in order.
I put on stainless tyga racing pipes and cans that are available for extra cost with the bike
They ad about 6-8 HP and drop about 10-15 more lbs off the bike. I jetted the bike really rich for safety (145) and started to work my way down. But winter came. Currently at a 130 or 132 main , and am thinking that 128 might be the ticket for best power.
I also purchased the complete GP500 bodywork from tyga. This bodywork is more modern then the original and looks like the GP500 bodywork from a few years ago. The bodywork also uses new tyga eyes headlights and a smaller taillight assembly that I also obtained. After I worked out all the bugs in the bike I planned on stripping it down, repainting brackets etc…. and then rebuild with the new bodywork, taillight headlight, front fender, and then doing a custom paintjob.
Add flush mount blinkers etc…
Just haven’t had time to get it done, and have several other car projects going..
Also, i just bought a house, had a new son, and am working a 3 month contract job of 30-40hrs per week on top of my 45 hour per week regular job. I am just to busy to ever work on this bike. It will probalby be 2 or 3 years before i can afford to build a garage, so realisticaly this bike will not get the attention it deserves for at lest 4 years from me.
I bought a 2000 ZX900 2 days ago for a more practical bike to travel to work on, and to take the wife for rides on. Unfortunately for me, part of the deal was the NSR has to go...
The bike was recently registered and insured for street use in Maine, but that has since expired. (anything under 300cc’s in Maine does not need a title) just play dumb with the insurance company till the cover it as a 92 or 93 Honda 250 nighthawk and you will be good. Probably even easier with me having already registered the bike.
i can 100% guarantee that if you live in maine you can register and use on the street. it is also possible for you to take my old registration and apply for a title in your state. (they may or may not give you one)
So the basic bike with the stock pipes is 4500 OBO also will throw in a set of fork seals that I haven’t put in yet.
An extra 700 will get you the tyga pipes and silencers
And an extra 1000 on top of that will get the bodywork headlight taillight stuff
So lets just say you want it all then 6000 would work for me
i prefer a local buyer if possible, but would ship for 100 bucks extra then the shipping cost to cover my time and gas to drop off at a crating shipping place.
i can take pictures of the bike and or the plastic and email them to you.
ALSO, I WILL NOT SELL THE PIPES, AND THE PLASTIC SEPERATELY RIGHT NOW.
If someone wants to buy the bike, they get first shot on that stuff. if they pass on it, then i will sell it after, if the bike doesnt sell, then i want to keep the plastic and pipes, cause eventually i will get a garage and get to go through this bike, and i still would want all those items.

I also purchased a 92 NSR 250 SE about a week before I purchased the one above. I bought it sight unseen from a guy in Colorado. It was running when he got it, and had been sitting for years, and was never put on the Road. He said he thought the motor was seized from sitting, and promised that it had not blown up racing or anything. I originally bought this one and was waiting for it to arrive when I stumbled onto the 93 and decided 2 was better then one, and since I knew the 93 was running I went for it. The 92 arrived a week later. I put it in my shed and started working on the 93 since it was already going, and I have not worked on the 92. I did have keys made up for it at the same time as the 93, and I also kicked the bike over, so it is not seized. It may just need a carb cleaning and a battery, change of fluids and it might fire right up. Dunno.
The suspension on the SE model is not as good as the SP, and it also just has aluminum rims. The SE model does have the dry clutch setup though.. even if it does have engine, or electrical problems, it would still be an excellent set of spare parts as trying to deal with someone in Japan can be a bit troublesome if you are in the USA.
This bike is acutally cosmeticaly better then the 93, and passes the 15 foot test pretty well. The oil injection setup is not on this bike, but other then that is 100% stock except for the tailsection is from a MC28, and would need a new bracket to hook up properly.
I would consider selling this one for 2500 dollars
