Obviously new TYGA reeds are "new", so you won't have anything to worry about. There should be a little cut-out on one corner of the read that aligns with the angled corner of the stock reed stopper to assist in assembly.
If stock reeds are assembled this way and they leak, turning them over to try and get a seal is a false economy in my opinion.
