To be fair, my '28 on stock pipes (mine have no restriction in nor sign of it having ever been removed and I'm not alone in this, if your's have get the Dremel on it!) and airbox, c/w HRC card and jetted too rich ran round Donington in the front half of the fast group, a girl there timing us only timed me one lap and I wouldn't have been anywhere near last in the F250 (and thats taking my one lap against the best race lap times from DP F400 last year), I was only a fraction behind Billy and he was running top 5 (in F250) pace.
OK so we know Donington pretty well but even so, I wasn't getting blown away by anything, least of all bikes with just a couple more bhp.
There's a lot less in it than many would have you believe, a couple of KR's here struggle to top 60hp, a std RGV250 or (Aprilia) RS250 is even worse, all the fast boys are running interesting carbs, heads, ignitions, pipes, fuels etc.
The below settings are for reference only, always check your own jetting
Std pipes, std airbox, std gearing, Donington Park, very hot dry UK day, mid 90's*f, I ran middle of the B needle, 182, 188 and it was too rich, still too rich in fact with the airbox opened up.
With the std airbox I'd guess mid 50's hp, it'd give a std 400 a run.
And get all the road kit off, theres a ton of weight to be saved!
