Why did I start this project???

asprilla » Wed Apr 04, 2007 8:45 pm

Hi guys

Having bought a '88 MC18 in boxes it has been quite a nightmare at times re-assembling everything without a manual or any real technical expertise! Although it is starting to come together and look very pretty, there are a couple of minor niggles preventing me from getting to excited!

I have the carbs in place and everything connected apart from the two nipples at the front of the outside of each carb. I assume these connect to the oil pump but of the two little pipes i have the one on the right side fits like a glove but the one on the left seems an inch too short???

The other problem is that i have the radiator and thermostat all plumbed in but the thermostat seems to sit very uncomfortably, pretty much suspended in mid air behind the radiator and in front of the top cylinder! Is this right? And finally on the side of the thermostat housing there is a threaded stub - what bolts onto that??

Thanks in advance if anyone can help - pics or diagrams would be perfect!
