I have an MC18 that I am getting out and ready for spring...
It is all stock except Tyga-pipes and a foam air filter replacement.
the front cylinder dies after going about 100 meters with a new
plug, but the top runs perfect. All jets are stock. I get spark on the
front but soon the plug is just wet. Here in michigan I am at 761ft elevation so I expect standard jets are ok....Is it possible to get an air filter for this
bike...or with just a piece of foam similar thickness and density suffice?
I am really passonate about getting this MC18 going....I like MC18's the best because it most closely resembled my '91 RS250 in Japan. But for
some reason, the even the RS wasn't as finiky as this thing...
My '89 RGV 250 naked "Wolf" ran perfect for years...
where do I start?
I am pretty good with tools and am a science teacher and am good
at following lab procedure...if any fellow nsr-lovers can take the time to be my guide on the side, I would like to get this baby that needs to be ridden
on the road and reliable...I am concerned about getting good power,
but mostly reliability and make it my daily rider.
I think that this bike was preveously owned by a woman on this site from
virginia...it is an MC18 with custom Rothman's scheme and originally imported and titled in Arizona....now It is Michigan registered.
Anyone know who I am talking about....
And CHeck out the cool MC18 on ebay...I like.
Thanks,
Rob Johnston
