No-one's more surprised to see that graph than me Fontyyy. (Except maybe Steve!)
When you look at the figures produced by the myriad of bikes at the RD club's last dyno day, to say they were humiliated by the NSR300 is an understatement!
Hopefully the motor will be reliable (as reliable as an RD can be!), but at least it's no longer fitted to a rubber frame with wooden brakes!!
How it performs on the road or track compared to a good 250 remains to be seen though; the dyno graph doesn't mean it will destroy one. It's a heavy(ish) lump, and although I think Martin has done a superb job, there's no real telling how well it's suited or positioned in the chassis for handling and/or tractability.
Still, not wishing to take anything away from Martin, he's built a motor that looks like it's an arm-wrencher, and very cleanly installed it in a modern chassis that should at least give it a chance of going round corners and stopping! Just a shame about that fuel tank!!
