We've still had your R5K and my MC21 making good power and smooth carburetion with foam pods though Steve. Mine was getting on towards 68hp with the filters fitted still at one point.

The foam ones will certainly do the job for the majority who want the inlet nice and loud, fairly free-flowing, but with some semblance of filtration. I think they perform equally as well as a modified airbox, if not better, give better/easier access to the carbs, and most important of all, look and sound better!
