I race my NSR250 in Derby Phoenix F250, I've only done two races but I'll tell you one thing right now, you don't need F3 this or HRC that to get respectable results and you certainly don't need to touch the jetting (presuming it's in the right ballpark), I know more than one mid pack RGV250 boy who doesn't posses a single spare jet. You need a reliable bike with 60ish bhp, some skill and a lot of nerve, neither of which I have (skill or nerve), we'll see if I can do a little better at Donington on Sunday, I know which way the track goes as well as anyone and I'm prepared for the rain (I now have some wets!).

Dave, MJ has guessed it costs around £3k to get to, enter and run a season in DP in a thread on the RGV forum here.
But you don't have to do that, you can prep any 250 for a few hundred quid, get your licence and pop your cherry.
