tuning modified mc16/21

jamesq » Tue Jul 10, 2007 12:36 am

hi everyone. i am about to get my nsr going again after a long time off the road. it was a stock mc16 when i blew a cylinder but im fitting my rebuilt mc16 motor to a mc21 chassis. so im hoping someone can offer me some good advice or info.
i have a stock mc16 motor in good cond, my carbs are ta20.a wich i believe are off a mc18 and will probly run stock mc21 chambers and cans. my electrical system is stock mc16 wiring loom with all stock mc16 parts ie coils cdi's etc.
my main concern is with the jetting, the jets are stock mc18 130+132.
im also interested in my cylinder porting. its hard to find any info on thus but im led to believe the mc16 porting is conservative compared to later models. is this true and in what ways? any help would be much appreaciated thankyou.
