Yeah, the MC16 (and MC18 Mk1) use a separate RC Valve control box. If the controller fails, it won't render the rest of the ignition useless. Integration of the ECU and RC controller is great as long as the motor is serviced as it should be!

I believe Paul Herr (Wrench) found a motor suitable to use in the later (MC18~) servos, but I can't see the point - unless you really like to tinker and are bored! In the unlikely event a servo does fail, then a good used one is cheap and easy enough to find.
