Hi guys,
I was just wondering if anyone knows if its possible to use the NSR250R J/K/K-2 (88-89 MC18) rear sproket and carrier, on the NSR250R7L (1990 MC21) wheel if you use the NSR250R J/K/K-2 (88-89 MC18) Cush drive rubbers??
I did try using the MC18 carrier and sproket on the MC21 wheel which was fitted with MC21 cush rubbers, but due to the allenhead type studs the MC18 sproket carrier uses, it fit the cush rubbers but wouldnt slide fully home because of the round stoppers on the ends of the sproket studs (near the sproket face) ive included some pics below so you can see what i mean.
MC18 Carrier and sproket with MC21 Cush rubber on one stud..(ignore the other block style cush rubber its off an NC23.

I didnt have any MC18 cush rubbers to try in the wheel but am hoping somebody else will able to tell me if they will fit the MC21 wheel and save me having to buy a MC21 Carrier. I did some reseach in the parts manuals for the two bikes on this site and the only difference i can see is the actual Sproket carriers and stud/bolt types used to secure the sproket to the carrier and cush drive.
The actual rubbers look similar although the part number is slightly different.

Sorry for the the long post!
cheers.
