If you're lucky, the barrel will be fine, and a new piston will do the job. That's about 30 minutes work and about £70 to put right including the base gasket.
If you don't look inside, it will quite literally cost you 10 times as much when crank destroys itself.
Don't say you weren't warned.
As Fontyyy mentioned earlier, I missed a tiny piece of something in a rushed (in the dark!!) rebuild one evening. The bike made it 45 miles... 25 of those at well over the national speed limit, then went bang about 10 miles from my front door!
