i paid little money for my stock mc21r and was delighted that the bike was restricted as it came out of the factory cos i can play around with it myself, however the fairings showed a different story altogether.
i look for and suppose like many bike OCD people, stock bikes, simply because with my limited knowledge of mechanics if something breaks at least i don't have to spend time trying to identify what part it is from or figure out why the oem bearing doesn't fit what is no longer a standard bore or casing.
sadly though most people think that if it looks standard, then hopefully it has always been standard and standard bike have been looked after by men and women of the cloth and hopefully have never been raced and hopefully they are on to buy a prestine low mileage rocket for a snip..................dream on two strokes equals thrashed thrashed and then thrashed. i always expect a rebuild somewhere down the line.
standard is good but i'd settle for a trick 21 se/sp next and hope the prices remain like this so i can save the money pronto.
but the most important thing is riding the bike not fixing it, if you like it the other way around buy a brit classic, i know.
