if anyone has had the same prob i have the answer from matt @ tyga

i quote from an e-mail

"using the alloy spacer will give top end performance, but will incur a slight dip in lower midrange. good for racing. fitting the carbon reeds without the spacer will improve the midrange without the increase in ultimate peak. good for tracks or street"
